Welsh Week
A Closed to Club event, for machines made before 1940
First introduced in 1984 and celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2008. This 7 day event is based at one of the halls of residence at Aberystwyth University and caters for up to 40 motorcyclists and their partners. The riding is split up during the week with three half day runs of approximately 50 miles and two full days' riding of approximately 80-90 miles. Wednesday is normally a "do what you wish" day.
The Welsh roads are considerably better than those found anywhere else in the UK. We use riders pointing the way on junctions when we deviate from the main direction of travel, so no route sheet reading is necessary. This also allows for people to ride at their own pace. Coffee and tea stops are included on the short runs and both coffee, lunch and tea stops are taken on the full days.
The popularity of this week has meant that entry is restricted to club members. The week provides the opportunity to see outstanding and varied scenery plus the feel of an annual family gathering.
